Seattle

Pike Place Market on a rainy night

the rainy city takes its coffee very seriously

  • for the more budget conscious traveler (myself included lol)

CitizenM Seattle: Tech-savvy, clean, sleek design, cool gadgets, and a prime location for an urban adventure. We arrived around 11AM — and they had a room available for us (despite check in being at 2:00PM).

for those looking for more than just a place to stay…

The Edgewater: Wake up to waves and views at The Edgewater! This historic gem mixes Seattle's maritime past with cozy cabin vibes. It's not just a hotel; it's a cozy waterfront story waiting to be lived.

The Inn at the Market: Wake up to Pike Place Market's buzz at your doorstep! Picture lively market stalls, bay views, and city lights from your room.

  • Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar: OYSTERS GALORE. Their raw bar offers a true taste of the Pacific Northwest's bounty from the sea.

Pike Place Chowder: A visit to Seattle isn't complete without sampling the award-winning clam chowder at Pike Place Chowder. Check in on yelp and got $1 off the Sampler. My personal faves are the New England Clam Chowder and the Seafood Bisque.

Rachel's Ginger Beer: Refreshing and zesty ginger beer— my go to is the blood orange.

Moore Coffee Shop: The CUTEST latte art.

Bakery Nouveau: Treat yourself to heavenly pastries and baked goods. Indulge in artisanal bread, delectable cakes, and pastries that are a feast for both the eyes and taste buds.

Mekong Bar: One of two Vietnamese restaurants on this list. Seattle has a thriving Vietnamese culture so if you’re looking for a hot bowl of pho on a rainy day, you’re in for a treat.

Saigon Drip Cafe: Dive into the robust flavors of Vietnamese coffee and delectable banh mi sandwiches at Saigon Drip Cafe. It's a perfect spot for a quick pick-me-up. If you get their pho, try their house hot sauce— incredibly spicy but insanely great flavor.

Tilikum Place Cafe: Known for its Pacific Northwest-inspired cuisine and cozy atmosphere. Don't miss their brunch offerings!

Dick's Drive-In: For classic American burgers and shakes, head to Dick's Drive-In. This iconic spot has been serving up delicious burgers since 1954.

Violet: Indulge in comfort food with a modern twist at Violet. Their innovative menu and cozy ambiance make it a perfect spot for a satisfying meal.

  • Starbucks Reserve Roastery: One of nine in the world. Get ready for a sensory overload as you dive into the world of premium roasts and unique brews. The affogato is my favorite but they are also famous for their espresso martini!

Space Needle: Iconic and breathtaking views of Seattle's skyline and beyond. Trust me; the view from up here is unreal— aided by a glass floor that allows you to look straight down.

Chihuly Garden and Glass: Explore the mesmerizing glass sculptures near the Space Needle.

Fremont Troll: Say hello to the Fremont Troll, Seattle's beloved under-the-bridge resident. This spot features a small, little trail that you can hike up —don’t forget to water the moss turtle and make a wish!

Pike Place Market: No trip to Seattle is complete without a visit to Pike Place Market! Get ready for a sensory overload—fresh produce, local crafts, and the famous fish-throwing spectacle. Don’t forget to find the famous gum wall!

Seattle Waterfront: Take a stroll along the Seattle Waterfront. Lively and bustling atmosphere, the Great Wheel, and the beautiful views of Elliott Bay. You can often catch some street performances or other activity around the area.

Kerry Park: The post card photo. As the sun sets, the most spectacular view of Seattle's twinkling skyline is revealed.
